I have a wide background including computer science, color science and human cognition and perception that allows me to use my versatile skills in various contexts such in photography and digitization, camera and image processing, computer vision, color management and color perception, in addition to spectral imaging.

I have as well the experience of reading and implementing Standards such as the ISO standards for photography and cultural heritage digitization, as well as the FADGI guidelines.

Projects

I have worked on and implemented the color management module pipeline (CMM) used in CultArm3D that enables the system to do color calibration, color correction and validation based on the ISO standards (ISO 19264-1) for ensuring the highest color profiling quality.

My research work included:

  • Understanding and characterizing the effect of cross-polarization on RGB imaging, to be among the firsts who dissiminate this missing knowledge from the color science literature.

  • Overcoming the problem of scanning large color targets that do not fit inside a small field-of-view (FOV) such in using a Micro lens, so to ensure keeping the color correction accuracy to the highest possible.

  • Taking the first steps and offering insights for a possible apprach towards 3D color calibration by the attempt, I have shown in my research, to do color calibration in a very similar fashion to how 3D texturing (texture atlas) and uv-maps work.
